Head of Data engineering & BI

As the Head of Data engineering & BI at Keshet Media Group, Israel’s leading media and content company, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the data strategy of a dynamic, fast-paced organization with multiple high-impact digital assets. Our diverse ecosystem includes some of the country’s most widely used platforms, such as Mako, N12, 12+, and V1, spanning web, mobile apps, and connected TV experiences. These platforms serve millions of users daily, delivering premium news, entertainment, and on-demand content while generating vast volumes of real-time data.

This role is an exciting opportunity to leverage advanced BI solutions to drive data-driven decision-making in a company at the forefront of the media industry. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including content, product, monetization, and marketing, to optimize user engagement, advertising performance, and content personalization across platforms. Additionally, you will work alongside the Data & Analytics teams to ensure seamless integration of audience insights, viewer behavior analysis, and ad-tech performance metrics, ultimately shaping the digital content experience across Keshet’s streaming and broadcast ecosystem, including smart TVs and connected devices.

You will spearhead the organization's business intelligence strategy, ensuring data is effectively leveraged to support data-driven decision-making across departments. This role combines technical expertise, strategic vision, and leadership to deliver BI initiatives that align with the organization's objectives.

You will transform raw data into actionable insights, enabling strategic decision-making. In this capacity, you will lead and mentor a high-performing BI team, develop advanced BI solutions, and ensure the stability, quality, and accessibility of data infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include designing and managing cloud-based data infrastructure using tools such as AWS, Redshift, Snowflake, and Airflow, along with advanced programming skills in Python and Node.js. You will also utilize visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Domo to create solutions tailored to the organization's needs.

Professional Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in BI development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or team-leading role.
• Proven expertise in Python (mandatory).
• Strong backend development experience, including managing cloud-based infrastructure with AWS (LB, EC2, Linux, Nginx).
• Proficiency in developing custom applications using Node.js.
• Deep knowledge of designing ETL pipelines using tools such as Airflow.
• Extensive experience with cloud-based SQL engines, such as Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
• Expertise with BI and visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Domo.
• Advanced SQL skills, including designing and implementing tables, views, and stored procedures.

Leadership Abilities:

• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of BI professionals.
• Experience guiding and supporting less experienced developers, fostering a collaborative and growth-focused environment.
• Strong communication skills to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Additional Skills:

• Strong analytical capabilities for identifying business trends and patterns.
• Demonstrated ability to present business insights clearly and effectively to senior leadership.
• Proactive approach to innovation and staying updated with emerging BI tools and analytics technologies.
