The Automation Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated systems and processes within an organization. This role involves managing a team of automation engineers, ensuring project deadlines are met, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation technologies, and leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of automation engineers. Provide guidance and support to ensure team members are developing their skills and achieving their professional goals.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee automation projects from conception to completion. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Develop and implement strategies for automating processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
- Provide technical leadership in the design, development, and implementation of automated systems. Stay updated with the latest automation technologies and best practices.
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., IT, Operations, Quality Assurance) to identify automation opportunities and ensure seamless integration of automated systems.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all automation processes, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
- Establish and enforce standards and best practices for automated processes to ensure high-quality outputs.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with automated systems promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
- Proven experience in automation engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in programming languages, preferably Python or other.
- Experience with automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Jenkins).
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and DevOps practices.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
