As we scale, we're looking for a dynamic Finance and Bizops Manager to take the lead on managing and scaling our financial operations, drive strategic financial insights, and streamline business operations to ensure the company’s continued growth.

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced Finance and Bizops Manager to join Bluespine. The Finance Manager will own all finance-related processes, reporting, and strategic analysis across the company, driving business operations, financial strategy, and investor communication. You will be instrumental in supporting key decisions and managing the financial health of the company as we scale. This is a hand-on position.

Responsibilities:

Finance Leadership:

• Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing performance, risks, and growth opportunities.
• Maintain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act strategically from a forward-looking perspective.
• Establish and oversee the company’s finance IT systems to ensure efficiency and compliance.
• Set targets for and supervise all accounting and finance personnel. Supervise bookkeeping, tracking of financial transactions, and reporting.
• Manage insurance policies and liaise with brokers to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
• Oversee all audit and internal control operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
• Manage and oversee all accounting processes, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end close; Maintain financial projections and perform budget vs. actual analysis.
• Support corporate fundraising strategy, including supporting investor relations and financial due diligence processes.
• Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance, including monthly and annual statements.
• Conduct financial analysis, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide insights to support strategic decisions.
• Ensure adherence to financial laws, tax regulations, and corporate governance best practices.
• Collaborate closely with the executive team to support business growth and operational efficiency.
  
  

• Lead financial modeling, including pricing calculators and business cases for new products and services.
• Drive budget planning, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Provide strategic financial insights to guide decision-making at the executive level.
  
  

• Work closely with the leadership team to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Develop and maintain operational dashboards for tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Conduct regular analysis of operational performance and recommend improvements.
• Board Preparation: Support leadership with board meetings by preparing financial reports, presentations, and key insights for board discussions.
• Investor Updates and Communication: Prepare quarterly financial reports and updates for investors. Coordinate communication with investors, ensuring timely and transparent updates on the company’s performance. Work closely with leadership to manage investor relations and support fundraising efforts.
• Legal Service Providers: Oversee relationships with legal service providers, ensuring that contracts and agreements align with the company’s needs and legal obligations. Work with external legal teams to manage and negotiate contracts, ensuring timely and cost-effective outcomes.
  
  

• Own and manage various ad-hoc projects as required by leadership.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to evaluate new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  
  

• Background in one of the Big 4 accounting firms.
• Proven experience as a Finance Manager or senior financial leadership role in a dynamic startup environment.
• In-depth knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, laws, and best practices.
• Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial management software (e.g., Priority).
• Experience with financial systems configuration – an advantage.
• Strong analytical mindset with a strategic, problem-solving approach.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and team management skills.
