About the Role:

We are looking for a Director of R&D to lead and optimize the user experience across web and mobile platforms. This strategic role requires a deep technical background in frontend development, mobile technologies, and backend development on AWS, alongside a proven ability to manage globally distributed engineering teams.

As a key member of the R&D leadership team, you will oversee the Mobile, Web, and Account & App Integration teams, ensuring a seamless, high-performance, and scalable digital experience. You will play a key and strategic role driving innovation, cross-team collaboration, and best-in-class development practices at Pango.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the Core Experience strategy, focusing on scalability, performance, and usability.
• Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering a high-performance engineering culture.
• Oversee frontend and mobile development (iOS/Android), ensuring best practices, high-quality code, and seamless integration.
• Optimize AWS-based backend infrastructure for performance, security, and cost efficiency.
• Manage and scale globally distributed teams, including offshore development resources.
• Collaborate with Product, UX/UI, and Design teams to enhance user engagement and retention.
• Define and track key performance metrics (OKRs), analyze user behavior, and drive continuous improvements.
• Stay ahead of industry trends, incorporating new technologies and methodologies to enhance user experience.
• Develop and execute team growth strategies, including hiring, mentoring, and professional development.
• Oversee budgets and resources, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in high management of engineering within software development.
• Proven experience in mobile development (iOS/Android) cloud infrastructure AWS - Must.
• Strong technical expertise in frontend technologies (React, Angular, Vue.js) and modern frontend architectures.
• Track record of managing globally distributed engineering teams, including offshore development.
• Experience in UX/UI leadership, optimizing digital product experiences.
• Deep understanding of Agile development methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive impactful results.
