VP R&D

We're hiring a Hands-on VP R&D to lead development at a stable software projects company in Ramat Gan

📍 Location: Bursa area, Ramat Gan (near the train station) | Hybrid – 1 day per week from home

This is a leadership role over a small team that is expected to grow, making it a great fit for a strong Team Lead ready to take the next step into a senior management position.

About the Company:

We're a well-established software and technology services company (~15 employees), working with long-term clients in the banking, telecom, and public sectors. We develop critical operational systems, emergency and routine management platforms, and tailor-made software solutions in both cloud and on-prem environments.

About the Role:

We are looking for a VP R&D who is both a strong technical leader and an experienced team manager. This is a hybrid position with ~50% hands-on development, alongside full ownership of the company’s R&D activity – including team leadership, architecture, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Manage a team of ~6 developers (in-house and client-facing)

🔹 Lead architecture and system design for complex projects

🔹 Be involved in hands-on coding (50%), code reviews, and technical guidance

🔹 Own the recruitment process for new team members – sourcing, hiring, onboarding

🔹 Work closely with clients, understand their needs, and deliver custom tech solutions

🔹 Take part in strategic decisions and contribute to shaping the company’s technical direction

Our Tech Stack:

Python (core language) – Must have deep, hands-on experience

REST APIs, Microservices, Linux, Docker – Mandatory

PostgreSQL, Redis

Cloud: Azure (advantage), and On-Prem solutions

Frontend: Vue.js | Mobile: Flutter, Native

Complex integrations: API Gateway, WAF, Proxies, Content Filters – Must

Requirements:

✅ 8–10+ years of backend development experience

✅ Proven experience managing small R&D teams (3–6 developers)

✅ Hands-on experience with Python and scalable system design – Mandatory (5+Y)

✅ Experience recruiting and growing development teams – Required

✅ Strong understanding of architecture and integration in complex environments

✅ Experience with project management and end-to-end delivery

✅ Customer-oriented, strong communication skills, team player

✅ Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms – Advantage
