Applicative DBA (SQL Server)

We are looking for an experienced Applicative DBA (SQL Server) to join our team and take ownership of managing and optimizing our mission-critical, real-time production environments. This role involves working closely with R&D, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure high availability, performance, and stability of database systems, primarily based on Microsoft SQL Server, including Always On and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions. Familiarity with PostgreSQL is a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and support production SQL Server environments, ensuring availability, performance, and security.
• Design, maintain, and optimize stored procedures, functions, table partition and indexing strategies to support real-time applications.
• Support and maintain SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, replication, and DR strategies.
• Monitor performance and proactively address issues using tools such as SentryOne, Query Store, DMVs, and Extended Events.
• Develop and maintain SSIS packages for ETL processes.
• Support and manage SSRS for operational and business reporting.
• Participate in deployment processes, schema updates, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (R&D, DevOps, QA, and Product) to support database-related needs throughout the SDLC.
• Provide support for AWS-based infrastructure, including deployment and monitoring of SQL Server on cloud environments.
• Participate in code versioning and deployment processes using Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure database backups, restores, and integrity checks are running smoothly.
• Troubleshoot database and query performance issues in high-throughput environments.
• Maintain documentation related to configurations, procedures, and deployments.
• Provide off-hours support for critical production issues as needed.
• Respond independently to production incidents, performance bottlenecks, and scalability challenges.

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in production, real-time environments.
• Proven ability to work independently and take full ownership of the database domain.
• Strong experience with SQL Server Always On, replication, and DR architecture.
• Experience managing SQL Server on AWS (EC2, RDS, networking considerations, etc.).
• Expertise in T-SQL, performance tuning, and stored procedure development.
• Hands-on with SSIS, SSRS, and SentryOne monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-level configurations related to MSSQL environments.
• Work in Agile culture with cross-functional team.
• Experience with Git
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
