Backend Developer (Python | AI-Centric)

Location: Hybrid / Remote-friendly (Israel-based preferred)

Job Type: Part-Time or Full-Time

Argu is building the most advanced video understanding platform in the world — and we’re looking for a sharp, curious, and performance-minded Backend Developer to help us scale it.

This is a hands-on role for those who love turning complex data into blazing-fast APIs, building production-grade systems, and squeezing performance from every layer of the stack.

·        Design and build robust backend services in Python.

·        Maintain and develop Relational , Object storage and vector databases

·        Implement APIs and backend pipelines for real-time, production-level systems.

·        Collaborate with AI researchers and system architects to integrate CV/AI components into our product.

·        Proven experience with Python backend development

·        Experience building and deploying production-grade web services

·        Strong command of data processing and optimization techniques

·        Familiarity with scaling databases and high-throughput systems

·        Practical use of libraries like: numpy, pandas, scipy, numba, matplotlib, torch

·        Experience with performance tuning and algorithmic acceleration

·        Exposure to deep learning frameworks like PyTorch

·        Experience in image processing or computer vision workflows

·        Familiarity with building agentic flows (e.g. LangChain)

·        Infrastructure know-how: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, or cloud-native setups

·        Enjoys solving hard problems and optimizing edge cases

·        Can balance clean code with performance-critical demands

·        Comfortable navigating between raw research and clean production

·        A team player who communicates clearly and loves what they do
