Research Development Lead

A leading Startup in Herzliya is seeking for an exceptional R&D Team Leader to join our engineering team. In this role, you will lead our research, development, and infrastructure initiatives, aligning them with our strategic goals while fostering cross-functional collaboration. You will be instrumental in ensuring the security, performance, and scalability of our platform as we continue to grow.

Role Overview

As the R&D Team Leader, you will manage the R&D team, oversee the technical roadmap, and deliver secure, high-performance solutions that align with our product objectives. You will work closely with the CTO, development, product, and data science teams to balance hands-on technical work, such as code reviews and overseeing cloud infrastructure, with high-level strategic planning. In addition, you will champion security protocols and infrastructure integrity to ensure the protection of user data and privacy.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Vision

• Drive the R&D strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, product roadmaps, and growth targets.
• Identify and leverage emerging technologies and best practices to enhance Spines.com’s platform capabilities and improve user experience.
• Lead by example, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and agile development environment.

Product Development & Innovation

• Oversee the entire development lifecycle, from ideation and prioritization to testing and deployment, ensuring timely and high-quality releases.
• Collaborate closely with product teams to translate market needs into actionable R&D priorities.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance, including code reviews, to maintain product quality and code consistency.

Security, Compliance & Infrastructure

• Champion security protocols and ensure the integrity of infrastructure to protect users' data and privacy.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of compliance regulations and best practices to ensure the platform meets industry standards.

Job Requirements:

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in R&D or engineering roles, with at least 4 years in a management position.
• Proven track record of leading product development teams, demonstrating expertise in end-to-end development processes, security best practices, and infrastructure management.
• Strong ability to balance hands-on technical involvement with strategic planning in a fast-paced, growth-driven environment.
• Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure, including AWS, and a deep understanding of cloud-based services and architecture.
• Proven collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, including product, data, and marketing teams, to drive product success and align technical solutions with business goals.
• Expertise in working with modern technologies such as Node.js, React, and cloud platforms (AWS).
• Familiarity with data marketing practices and how to integrate data-driven insights into product development and strategy.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex technical challenges across multiple teams.
