The Role

As our first Senior DevOps/SRE Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and processes that support our products and engineering teams. You will be a hands-on leader, building robust CI/CD pipelines, ensuring high availability and scalability of systems, and championing best practices for automation, observability, and reliability.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure Ownership: Design, build, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based infrastructure (AWS preferred).
CI/CD Pipelines: Develop and maintain automated build, test, and deployment pipelines to enable rapid and reliable software releases.
Monitoring and Observability: Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to ensure system health and reliability.
Incident Management: Lead incident response, postmortems, and remediation to minimize downtime and prevent recurrence.
Cost Optimization: Monitor and optimize cloud resources to balance performance with cost efficiency.
Security Best Practices: Ensure robust cloud and infrastructure security.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams to embed DevOps principles in development workflows.
Scalability: Ensure infrastructure can scale to support our growing user base and product portfolio.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure, processes, and tools.
Leadership: Define the DevOps strategy, build processes, and (in the future) help hire and mentor additional team members.

Requirements:

Experience: 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or a similar role, preferably in a startup or SaaS environment.
Cloud Expertise: Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
CI/CD: Deep experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions preferred)
Containerization & Orchestration: Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
Monitoring Tools: Experience with tools like DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent for observability.
Programming Skills: Proficiency in scripting and automation
Problem Solver: Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Collaboration: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Security Awareness: Knowledge of security principles and best practices in DevOps workflows.

Nice to Have

Experience with tools like Snowflake, DBT in data engineering pipelines.
