Research And Development Manager

One of our clients, a rapidly growing tech company at the forefront of AI-driven content solutions, is looking to hire a seasoned and visionary Head of Engineering.

This company supports global media and entertainment organizations by automating the creation and distribution of engaging digital content using advanced technologies such as generative AI, video processing, and data analytics.

This role presents a unique opportunity to lead a cross-functional R&D group composed of approximately 30+ engineers, organized into five teams—including full-stack, mobile, and data teams. As Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing team leaders, managing day-to-day execution, and driving the full development lifecycle—from technology strategy and delivery processes to team growth and leadership development. Reporting directly to the VP R&D, you will help define and shape the engineering organization’s vision, culture, and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide inspirational leadership and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Manage five cross-functional engineering teams, including full-stack, mobile, and data.
• Guide the architectural design and ensure scalability and robustness of the platform.
• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of complex engineering projects.
• Continuously improve team performance, workflows, and engineering practices.
• Own recruitment efforts and expand the team to support business growth.
• Mentor team leaders and support the professional development of engineers.

Key Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 4+ years of experience managing team leaders and a cross-functional group of 30+ engineers.
• Proficiency in backend programming and object-oriented design.
• Experience managing 24/7 production environments.
• Background in building complex systems involving video processing or data platforms – an advantage.
• Strong delivery leadership skills while maintaining high-quality code quality and engineering standards.
• Experience in mobile development or managing a mobile engineering group – an advantage.
• BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field – mandatory. MSc – an advantage.
