VP R&D

Position Overview

We are seeking a visionary and hands-on VP of Research & Development to lead the technological strategy and development of our platform. As a core member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for building and scaling a world-class tech team, defining the product architecture, and driving innovation in AI-based learning personalization.

Responsibilities

Define and lead the overall R&D strategy and execution roadmap

Architect and implement scalable systems using modern AI/ML approaches

Oversee development cycles, ensure code quality, security, and performance

Manage and grow a high-performing tech team (developers, data scientists, AI engineers)

Collaborate with product, design, and pedagogy experts to create seamless user experiences

Translate research and emerging technologies into usable platform features

Maintain awareness of industry trends and integrate relevant innovations

Requirements

5+ years in a senior technical leadership role (VP R&D, CTO, or equivalent)

Proven track record in leading R&D teams, ideally in AI/EdTech/SaaS startups

Strong experience with AI/ML systems, backend architecture, and cloud infrastructure

Deep understanding of software development methodologies and product lifecycles

Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment

Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with GPT/LLM integration and NLP technologies

Background in educational platforms or learning science

Hands-on development skills (Python, Node.js, etc.)
