NPI Engineering Manager

Role Overview:

HEQA Security is seeking a skilled and experienced NPI Engineering Manager to lead the transition processes from development to production, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, and product quality management within the company.

The role includes responsibility from the development phase for DFx – Design For Manufacturability, Testability, Assembly, Cost, and Quality, working closely with the R&D, production, and supply chain teams. 

The manager will be responsible for ensuring product readiness for serial production (PRR), while maintaining quality, reliability, and operational efficiency. Additionally, the role involves continuous improvement of the product and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the NPI transition from development to production and implementation of new products in production lines.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes, including writing procedures and defining technical specifications.
• Prepare production files, write work instructions, ATPs, create BOMs, assign part numbers, and manage configuration control and product revisions.
• Manage and implement engineering changes (ECO) throughout the product lifecycle and continuously improve work processes.
• Collaborate with the R&D, production, and procurement departments to ensure the smooth, high-quality production of the company’s systems.
• Troubleshoot engineering issues and technical faults in production, providing hands-on technical support for the operations integration department.
• Lead quality assurance in operations, including failure analysis, requirement definition, and handling MRB, RMA, Root cause analysis and CAPA processes.
• Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to reduce costs and improve performance.
• Work with external suppliers, manufacturers and subcontractors to ensure quality and efficiency in production processes.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a relevant field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role in the industry, with an emphasis on transitioning multidisciplinary complex systems from development to production – mandatory.
• Proven experience in leading NPI processes and manufacturing engineering is mandatory, preferably in start-ups.
• Experience working with ERP and PLM systems, including the ability to implement PDM/PLM systems.
• Experience working with industry standards and regulations (RoHS, REACH, UL, CE).
• Experience working with multidisciplinary systems, including electronic, mechanical, and optical assemblies, is required. This includes fiber optics and optical components, complex electronic PCBAs, mechanical enclosures, electrical cables, and more.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault analysis skills, as well as experience with precise and delicate assembly work.
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal communication skills, while at the same time strong capability to work independently.
• High-level English proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Experience, willingness and ability to do hands-on troubleshooting and to resolve electronic issues.

Additional information

This is a full-time position, on-site, working at the company's main offices in Modiin.

The role reports to the VP of Operations.
