Vice President Research And Development

One of our clients, a deep tech company at the forefront of multidisciplinary system innovation combining hardware, software, and algorithmic technologies into cutting-edge, end-to-end platforms, is seeking a VP of R&D to join its executive team.

Role Overview

As the VP of R&D, you will be responsible for defining and executing the company’s research and development strategy while managing the day-to-day operations. You will lead a team of directors and engineers across various disciplines and collaborate closely with product management and architecture teams to bring innovative concepts to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and implement the company's R&D roadmap to advance core technologies.
• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, including chip design, software, hardware, product, and algorithm engineers.
• Oversee the development of proof-of-concept systems and prototypes, ensuring scalability and real-world applicability.
• Manage the R&D budget, including headcount, projects, tools, systems, and external vendors.
• Track industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activity to maintain technological leadership.
• Scale the R&D organization effectively, enhancing delivery and reducing time-to-market.

Key Qualifications & Experience

• 15+ years of experience in R&D leadership, preferably in fast-paced or startup environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing global, multidisciplinary teams and leading high-impact development projects.
• Strong understanding of complex hardware systems, including analog, digital, RF, and software development for integrated solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts into business value.
• Passion for innovation and adaptability in a dynamic, fast-growing environment.
