Bioinformatician

Job offer: Bioinformatician, part-time, Rehovot / Hybrid, Immediate.

For an exciting cutting-edge scientific and impactful bioinformatic role, TargetGene is seeking to hire an experienced bioinformatician for a part-time (~30%) position.

Minimal requirements:

Education:

●        B.Sc. or M.Sc. (M.Sc. preferred. PhD student also possible) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or a related field.

Programming & Scripting:

●        Proficiency in Python for data analysis.

●        Experience with Unix/Linux command-line tools and scripting (e.g., Bash).

NGS & Genomic Data Analysis:

●        Hands-on experience with NGS data, including Amplicon-seq, RNA-seq, and CRISPR screens.

●        Familiarity with common bioinformatics tools and pipelines for processing and analyzing sequencing data.

Gene Editing & Gene Silencing:

●        Understanding of CRISPR-Cas or similar systems.

●        Experience in guide RNA design, off-target prediction,

●        Advantage if you have experience with siRNA/miRNA knockdown analysis.

Primer Design & Cloning Support:

●        Proficient with primer design tools (e.g., Primer3, NCBI Primer-BLAST) for PCR, NGS and cloning applications.

●        Advantage if you have experience designing probes for qPCR or ddPCR.

Databases & Annotations:

●        Familiarity with biological databases such as Ensembl, UCSC Genome Browser, miRBase, NCBI, RefSeq, and UniProt.

●        Ability to extract and integrate genomic annotations or gene expression data from public or proprietary sources.

Data Visualization & Reporting:

●        Ability to create clear visual reports using tools like matplotlib, Seaborn, or ggplot2.

Version Control:

●        Basic knowledge of Git for version control.

General requirements

●        Very good English, ability to read and analyze scientific literature and independently compile and implement varied data into novel ideas, discuss and implement feedback from team.

●        Physical meeting at least once a week in Rehovot. Flexible hours.

●        Highly responsive and vigorous.

●        Strong communication skills to present results and collaborate effectively with lab scientists.
