Day Care Program Coordinator
The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem is currently looking for qualified candidates for the job; Day Care Program Coordinator – Full time- to join our team at Saint Rachel Center in Jerusalem.
General Overview
Under the umbrella of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, Saint Rachel Center (SRC) is a non-profit, charitable and social outreach catholic center, run by the Vicariate for Migrants and Asylum Seekers in Israel (VMAS), to assist Christian Migrants and Asylum Seekers in Jerusalem. Its Day Care Program (DCP) provides a safe and enriching environment for the young generation of migrants, to develop socially, emotionally, and physically. The candidate must be able to perform in a multi-cultural setting, to meet the needs of children and families from diverse backgrounds and maintain the safety and wellbeing of the children.
Responsibilities and tasks:
- Manage and maintain the safety and wellbeing of the children ranging from 4 months to 3 years old.
- Ensure a healthy and safe environment for children, parents, staff and volunteers.
- Maintain open, consistent, and effective communication with parents regarding DCP activities and policies, providing assistance and support as needed.
- Always maintain high quality childcare standards based on developmentally appropriate standards and oversee the development progress, of their social emotional, cognitive and physical abilities.
- Manage the daily functions of the DCP and supervise all staff members/volunteers, including substitute staff/volunteers.
- Assist the SRC administration in developing, reviewing and updating the related policies and operational procedures.
- Collaborate closely with the director and the other coordinators of the center to achieve the common goal and follow the same mission of the SRC.
- Organize activities and programs and follow up the scheduled plans of activities to ensure that children have sufficient physical activity, rest, and playtime.
- Ensure program compliance with the appropriate governmental bodies (e.g. Ministry of Education, Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs, Municipality).
- Collaborate and work with other staff members from various cultures and different backgrounds.
- Facilitate and follow up on staff and volunteers’ weekly meetings and oversee their training and professional development.
- Participate in training as requested by the administration.
- Perform all required duties and tasks in compliance with strict confidentiality and professionalism.
- Perform any other related tasks assigned by the direct supervisor.
Requirements:
- Diploma in childcare education, or any related field.
- Proven 3 years’ work experience with toddlers and young children
- Fluency in English language is a MUST, and in Hebrew Language is a plus.
Competencies:
- Excellent communication and reporting skills (both verbal and written).
- Strong identification with SRC core values, standards, and regulations.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Capacity to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to manage time, multi-task and work on flexible hours.
