Data Engineer (Israel)

Korro is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic Data team. We are looking for a curious and innovative individual who thrives on tackling complex data challenges. This role is at the forefront of software architecture, data research, scalability, and cloud-based infrastructure. Together, we will develop next-generation data initiatives that empower all Korro teams including product, business, and research, to achieve their goals.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping Korro's data infrastructure. Your primary focus will be on data warehouse modeling and implementation, with opportunities to grow into platform engineering and analytics. You will collaborate closely with our data analysts and health analytics team of data scientists to transform complex healthcare data into actionable insights, directly improving children's lives.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement Korro's next-generation data lakehouse infrastructure.
• Design, model, and develop modern data architectures.
• Build and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines, translating complex healthcare business logic into efficient SQL and Python code.
• Collaborate with data analysts and scientists to ensure reliable and high-quality data delivery.
• Contribute to data platform engineering by implementing tools and frameworks that enhance team productivity.
• Support data visualization needs and partner with stakeholders to deliver impactful insights.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on data warehouse modeling and implementation.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and application development.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as GCP (preferred), AWS, or Azure.
• Strong expertise with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., Firestore, MongoDB).
• Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses like BigQuery or similar solutions (e.g., Snowflake).
• Deep understanding of modern data architectures and data lakehouse concepts.
• Familiarity with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
• Proven track record of implementing end-to-end data solutions.
• Knowledge of data security, privacy, and compliance regulations.
• Interest in expanding skills into platform engineering and analytics.
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
