Datacenter Technician

The Data Center Technician role is ideal for individuals who have a keen interest in IT infrastructure, networking, and hardware maintenance. The Data Center Technician will be responsible for supporting daily operations, troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues, and ensuring optimal performance of the data center environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, network devices, and other data center hardware
• Assist in hardware replacements, upgrades and repairs as required by development teams
• Handle cabling tasks, including running, terminating, and organizing network, fiber and power cables
• Document processes, issues, and resolutions accurately using internal ticketing and documentation systems
• Remotely fix and resolve software issues of data-center servers and other equipment
• Collaborate with other IT and engineering teams to support various projects and initiatives

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of server components such as CPU, Drives, Memory and PCI cards
• Technical knowledge of hardware components asembly
• Basic understanding of Linux, including installation and command-line usage
• Basic knowledge of network fundamentals, DNS, DHCP, IP Addressing and MAC Addresses
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Experience working with Jira (or other ticketing platform) for issue tracking and project management
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learn new software and equipment quickly

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data center operations, IT support, or related roles
• Familiarity with remote management tools and basic scripting knowledge (bash and Python)
• Familiarity with mass storage solution and protocols (NAS, iSCSI, SAN)
