Position Overview:

We are seeking a bold and inventive experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in pioneering the development and integration of an advanced System of Systems. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in uncharted territory - rapidly prototyping ideas, embracing a fail-fast mentality, and pushing mechanical design beyond conventional limits. You will be responsible for the design, analyses, assembly, integration, testing, and optimization of mechanical systems while collaborating closely with other disciplines in the R&D team. The role includes working directly with subcontractors to bring concepts to life quickly and effectively. A strong emphasis is placed on system-level thinking, seamless integration across subsystems, robust stress and structural analysis to ensure reliability under extreme conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

1- Mechanical Design:

• Design, analyze, assemble, and integrate mechanical components of the different systems, including structural, thermal, and dynamic elements.
• Ensure proper interfaces and compatibility between mechanical and electrical subsystems.
• Optimize the layout and integration process to enhance system maintainability and performance.
  
  

• Work closely with other teams to align mechanical designs with other requirements.
• Partner with the rest of the R&D team to prototype, test, and refine mechanical systems.
  
  

• Conduct tests to verify mechanical performance under operational conditions, including vibration, thermal, and stress testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during testing and system operation.
  
  

• Design and implement systems with a focus on ease of maintenance and long-term reliability.
• Recommend improvements to enhance system lifespan and reduce downtime.
  
  

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including assembly procedures, schematics, and maintenance guides.
  
  

• At least 6 years of proven experience in design of mechanical systems.
• Proven experience in stress and load analyses of mechanical systems.
• Hands-on experience in assembling and troubleshooting complex mechanical systems.
• Knowledge and experience with machining, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including structural mechanics and thermal management.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, OnShape).
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Highly motivated team player with the ability to work independently in a high paced R&D environment.
  
  

• Experience with vacuum systems, electromagnetic, or high-power systems.
• Fluent in English - reading and writing.
• Comfortable working in industrial or laboratory settings.
