Overview
The PODS group (Print on Demand Solutions) develops digital color servers for the digital printing industry, which combines complicated software and hardware architecture. We are looking for a Hardware engineer that will be part of the back-end development and participate in all aspects of the development cycle.
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Hardware (HW) Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on developing cutting-edge boards for computer systems that handle advanced image processing at ultra-high data rates (up to 40 GPixel/second). This role encompasses a range of HW development responsibilities, including VHDL coding, board design, and system engineering, contributing to innovative solutions in a high-performance computing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop optimized VHDL code for FPGA implementations.
- Design and develop digital hardware, including FPGA-based solutions.
- Perform board design for PC architectures utilizing PCIe interfaces.
- Execute high-speed PCB design and layout to meet stringent performance requirements.
- System engineering for complex computer systems.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (hardware and software) to ensure system-level integration.
- Support the full project lifecycle, from initial design through implementation and field deployment.
- Conduct debugging for FPGA based board using tools such as Signal Tap, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
Experience Required
- Candidates should possess at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in the following:
- VHDL coding and implementation.
- Digital hardware design, with a focus on FPGA development.
- Board design for PC architectures based on PCIe standards.
- High-speed PCB design and layout for performance-critical applications.
- Proficiency with Mentor EDA tools or equivalent.
- Hands-on FPGA debugging in a lab environment using tools like Signal Tap, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
- System engineering for complex computer systems.
- Supporting projects across the entire lifecycle, from design to implementation and field support.
- Experience with Altera ecosystem – advantage.
- Experience with Intel based computer platforms – advantage.
- Familiarity with up-to-date PC architecture standards.
- Strong system-level understanding in multi-disciplinary environments (hardware and software integration).
Education Required
- B.Sc. degree in Electronics Engineering from an accredited institution
