Engineering Laboratory Technician

The Lab Integration Engineer plays a crucial role in scientific and research environments by ensuring the seamless operation and integration of various laboratory equipment, instruments, and systems. This role involves working closely with hardware, engineers, and technicians to establish and maintain efficient workflows, troubleshoot technical issues, and optimize laboratory processes. The Lab Integration Employee contributes to the success of experiments, research projects, and data collection by facilitating the integration of laboratory technologies.

Responsibilities

Equipment Integration:

• Install, configure, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment, such as nodes, cables, drives and batteries.
• Ensure compatibility and connectivity between different pieces of lab equipment and software.
• Collaborate with vendors to implement software and hardware updates and patches.

Workflow Optimization:

• Analyze laboratory workflows to identify areas for improvement and efficiency enhancement.
• Develop and implement strategies to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
• Train laboratory personnel on best practices for equipment usage and workflow optimization.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to laboratory equipment, including hardware and software problems.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration to ensure equipment operates at optimal performance levels.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.

Documentation and Compliance:

• Create and update documentation for laboratory procedures, equipment manuals, and integration protocols.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols related to laboratory equipment and processes.
• Assist in preparing documentation for audits and inspections.

Collaboration:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including scientists, engineers, and IT professionals, to meet project objectives and research goals.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to address integration challenges and share progress updates.

Research Support:

• Provide technical support to researchers and scientists during experiments and data collection activities.
• Assist in the design and setup of experiments that involve integrated laboratory systems.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.

• Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learn new software and equipment quickly
