Senior Data Engineer

Role Overview:

As a Data Engineer at Onyxia, you will be responsible for spearheading the development of the data pipelines. You will collaborate closely with our team members, leveraging technologies such as Snowflake, Prefect, Temporal, Airbyte, Python, DBT, and more. This role offers the opportunity to work across the entire stack, utilizing Python programming language. You will have the chance to own significant parts of our service, driving impact and growth within the company.

In addition, this position presents the opportunity for career advancement, with the potential for the successful candidate to evolve into a leadership role within the data team, guiding and mentoring the engineers as the team continues to expand and innovate.

Responsibilities:

Design, build and maintain data workflows using Prefect, Temporal Snowflake and Apache Druid;

Collaborate with the team to solve complex problems in designing and building performance indicators for the world-leading cybersecurity products;

Process raw JSON datasets by transforming them into well-structured views, cleaning and deduplicating records to ensure the final data is accurate and reliable;

Work with the Apache Druid helping build and maintain "customer-facing" query interface to ensure accurate and consistent data delivery;

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to data workflows, ETL processes, and SQL queries;

Requirements:

BS/MS in a scientific field or equivalent experience;

5+ years in data engineering or related roles working with warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift or BigQuery;

4+ years of hands-on programming experience in Python;

Proven track record of designing, building, and maintaining complex data workflows;

Proficient in SQL with strong problem-solving skills;

Proficient in Python ecosystem and able to write clean, well-structured code;

Proficient in data manipulation and using analysis tools;

Commitment to code simplicity and performance optimization

Desire to work in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment

Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve the software with a strong focus on customer-facing features
