Cyber IT Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cyber IT Engineer to join our IT Group in Haifa. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of enterprise security solutions, network access control, and virtualization technologies. The role requires a strong technical foundation, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to securing and optimizing IT infrastructure.

• Design, implement, and maintain CIS benchmarks Level 1 and 2 across multiple platforms to ensure system hardening and regulatory compliance.
• Deploy and manage endpoint security solutions using Trellix (formerly McAfee) or equivalent security suites, including endpoint protection, device control, change control, and application control.
• Configure and optimize 802.1x Network Access Control (NAC) solutions to secure network access and enforce device authentication policies.
• Design, configure, and maintain firewall infrastructure, ensuring security policies are enforced and performance is optimized.
• Manage VMware virtualization environments with a focus on security hardening, performance optimization, and compliance.
• Administer and secure Windows and Linux operating systems in enterprise environments, implementing security best practices.
• Develop and maintain detailed security documentation, including policies, procedures, and technical configurations.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior IT staff, fostering knowledge sharing and team development.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• 5+ years of experience in IT security engineering roles.
• Proven experience implementing CIS benchmarks Level 1 and 2.
• Extensive experience with Trellix or equivalent enterprise security solutions (e.g., CrowdStrike, Symantec).
• In-depth knowledge of endpoint security, device control, and application control technologies.
• Strong expertise in 802.1x Network Access Control (NAC) deployment and management.
• Demonstrated experience with firewall management, including configuration of IPsec VPNs and policy enforcement.
• Advanced proficiency in VMware virtualization technologies, including vSphere and security configurations.
• Hands-on experience in managing both Windows and Linux environments with an emphasis on security administration.
• Familiarity with security automation and scripting to enhance operational efficiency.
• Scripting expertise using PowerShell, Python, or Bash for automation and custom configurations.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to convey technical concepts to various audiences.
• Collaborative mindset with a passion for mentoring and guiding team members.
