Lab Engineer

Job Overview:

Quantum-Art, a full stack quantum computing company, develops state of the art quantum computing systems based on trapped ions technology (both hardware and software).

As part of our mission, our System, Trap and Electro-optics groups build our quantum processing units (QPUs), develop novel quantum gates and circuits, and implement new algorithms capable of solving hard computational tasks, beyond current classical computational abilities. We already have 6 operational labs including QPU operation, R&D systems, Optics and Engineering labs.

We are looking for an experienced, skillful Lab Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

The lab Engineer is responsible for managing the daily operations of the labs, including overseeing the workflow, assisting researchers in conducting complicated experiments, maintaining equipment and infrastructure and ensuring safety protocols. The Lab Engineer will ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and work closely with researchers, and other stakeholders to achieve the laboratory's goals.

·      Work closely with R&D team to support ongoing research projects.

·      Oversee day-to-day operations of the lab to ensure efficient workflow and transparency

·      Troubleshoot and resolve issues with equipment and/or infrastructure, arrange for repairs, and manage the lab’s maintenance schedule.

·      Ensure the laboratory is compliant with all safety, and environmental regulations.

·      Manage lab inventory and ordering of supplies, equipment, and chemicals.

·      Construct simple optical \ optomechanical \ mechanical setups

Requirements and skills:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a laboratory setting
• Strong knowledge of electro-optical laboratory equipment, techniques, and safety protocols.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., electrical, mechanical or optical engineering) or Lab Technician certification from a recognized institution.

·       Programming (Python) experience – an advantage

• A tech-savvy individual with great manual skills
• Strong problem-solving, Team player, communication, and leadership skills
