Head of Finance (Portfolio Company)

A fast-growing startup in the TLV Partners portfolio is looking for a hands-on Head of Finance to establish and lead our in-house finance function. Until now, financial operations have been managed externally, and they are ready to bring in our first finance leader to build a robust financial strategy and infrastructure.

The Role:

As our first in-house finance leader, you will play a critical role in shaping financial strategy, ensuring compliance, and optimizing financial performance. You will transition finance operations from outsourced services to an internal function while supporting rapid growth and fundraising efforts. This is a unique opportunity to build a finance department from the ground up and make a lasting impact on the company’s future. While this role is not on the executive team of the company, there is potential to grow into a management-level role over time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement financial strategies, processes, and policies to support business growth.
• Take ownership of all financial operations, including accounting, FP&A, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
• Lead the transition from outsourced finance to an in-house function, including hiring and managing the finance team.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO and leadership team.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and tax requirements across relevant markets.
• Support fundraising efforts, investor relations, and financial due diligence.
• Optimize financial processes and implement best-in-class systems for scalability.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in finance roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position (e.g., Director of Finance, Head of Finance).
• Prior experience in a high-growth startup or fast-paced environment.
• Strong expertise in financial planning, accounting, and cash flow management.
• Experience working with investors, fundraising, and financial reporting.
• Deep knowledge of SaaS/Tech/VC-backed startup finance (preferred but not mandatory).
• CPA, CFA, or MBA – an advantage.
• Hands-on approach, with the ability to roll up your sleeves and execute.
