We uses Data Science and massive amounts of Akamai network traffic data to enhance the threat intelligence that is used in multiple Akamai products. Our customers include network operators and enterprises.

As Senior AI/ML Research at Akamai, you will shape the future of cybersecurity. Working with a team of experts to develop innovative AI/ML solutions that enhance security for top organizations. Drive AI research and engineering to address evolving threats and protect critical digital assets effectively.

In This Role You Will Be

• Developing and deploying scalable machine learning models, including LLMs, to enhance threat intelligence for Akamai products.
• Analyzing large-scale traffic network data using statistical methods to ensure accurate, reliable, and coherent model outputs.
• Collaborating with data scientists and product managers to solve complex business challenges like threat detection and automation.
• Designing and maintaining ML pipelines while contributing to multi-team projects and presenting outcomes to stakeholders.
• Staying updated on the latest machine learning advancements to apply cutting-edge solutions in real-world applications.
  
  

Do What You Love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have Computer Science or related field with 3+ years of Data Scientist experience.
• Have experience in machine learning, deep learning, LLM inference, vector databases, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Experience in designing ML pipelines, including model versioning, deployment, testing, and performance monitoring.
• Experience in developing robust Python APIs with strong design principles.
• Experience in SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g., Postgres), distributed processing (e.g., Spark), Kafka, Kubernetes, and Airflow.
