About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead cloud infrastructure optimization and cost management initiatives at a leading software company. This role will focus on improving the operational efficiency of our production systems while reducing costs and streamlining workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development teams in implementing software solutions that optimize cloud resource utilization and reduce operational costs
• Plan and execute the transition from monolithic architecture to a resource-efficient microservices architecture
• Develop strategies for automating and mechanizing deployment and operational processes in production environments
• Create monitoring systems and analytics tools to identify opportunities for performance and cost optimization
• Collaborate with product managers and development teams to incorporate cost and performance considerations into development processes
• Build a culture of cost awareness and efficiency among development teams

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience, including at least 4 years in development management roles
• Significant experience managing and leading development teams in complex, large-scale production environments
• Deep knowledge of modern software architectures, including microservices, containers, and cloud environments
• Experience developing high-performance, resource-optimized systems
• In-depth familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their pricing models
• Experience in developing automation systems and CI/CD processes
• Ability to incorporate business and financial considerations into technological decision-making
• Leadership skills to drive cultural changes within the organization
