Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our research and innovation processes. You’ll design and maintain systems that handle vast amounts of market and time series data, delivering robust pipelines that enable our traders and researchers to iterate quickly on new ideas. Your contributions will directly accelerate our ability to discover profitable strategies and gain a competitive edge in the market.

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate: You’ll work closely with Portfolio Managers, Engineers, and Researchers to build a robust research environment that accelerates our pace of innovation. 
• Design: You’ll collaborate on R&D to deliver a robust system to store, process, and analyze large heterogeneous data sets. 
• Engineer: You’ll build our pipes and write tools to process, validate, and reconcile data using a modern Python data science stack. 
• Analyze: You’ll parse and analyze data sets, reconcile, validate, and quality-check all our data. Collaborate with our team to enrich and productize it. 
• Resolve: You’ll find anomalies in data sources and our derivations and logic  
• Support: You’ll maintain the production environment, working with our team to efficiently address issues and sustain our research ability.

What we’re looking for:

• A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering, etc.)
• Experience building, deploying, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines
• Expertise in manipulating data using Python libraries (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, etc) and developing specialized tools 
• Solid understanding of databases, distributed computing, and scheduling frameworks
• Experience with object-oriented programming (OOP) and design patterns
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• The ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced settings

Bonus Points:

• Strength with C++
• Experience designing, developing, and deploying systems that integrate machine learning (ML) models into production environments.
• Experience with time series databases
• Cloud computing expertise (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Passion for financial markets
• Startup or small team experience
