We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer who is equipped to establish a robust BI infrastructure within our organization (reporting directly to the Director of Data)!

As the first senior data engineer in the company ,you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining the data architecture that will support the company's BI tools and systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data engineering, ETL pipeline development, cloud infrastructure, and BI systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Business and Data Analysts, Business Stakeholders ,different R&D teams and Products Managers to ensure seamless data flow and accessibility for decision-making purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

• BI Infrastructure Development: Lead the design and implementation of robust and scalable BI architecture and data pipelines to support company-wide reporting, dashboards, and analytics tools.

• ETL Pipeline Management: Build, optimize, and maintain ETL processes for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading from various sources (databases, APIs, cloud services) into centralized data warehouse.

• Data Warehousing: Architect, implement, and optimize data warehousing solutions in cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake) to store large volumes of structured and unstructured data.

• Integration with BI Tools: Establish and maintain integration between data warehouses and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker), ensuring that reports and dashboards are accurately populated and performant.

• Data Quality & Governance: Ensure the quality, accuracy, and security of data by implementing best practices in data governance, validation, and testing.

• Collaboration & Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Business and Data Analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand data needs and ensure alignment with business objectives.

• Optimization & Performance Tuning: Continuously monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot data systems, ensuring performance and scalability for high-volume, real-time data processing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Industrial engineering, Maths, or other numerate/analytical degree equivalent or equivalent work experience.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, with a focus on BI infrastructure, data pipelines, and cloud data platforms in a SaaS company.

• Proficiency in ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, Talend, DBT, Pentaho ,etc.)

• Advanced proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).

• Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).

• Familiarity with business intelligence and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.).

• Knowledge of data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop).

• Strong scripting skills (Python, Java, or Scala) for automating tasks and developing data pipelines.

• Skills in data modeling, business logic processes, as well as experience with DWH design.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and troubleshoot complex data issues.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
