VP of R&D

We are seeking a hands-on VP of R&D to drive the vision, strategy, and execution of our cutting-edge R&D initiatives. In this role, you will manage high-performing development and research teams, own decisions on architecture and technology stack, and act as the primary advocate for our R&D needs within leadership forums. You will also be responsible for fostering a culture of AI innovation, ensuring the delivery of advanced solutions that meet the evolving demands of our enterprise customers.

Key Responsibilities

R&D Leadership

• Lead all R&D and customer-facing technology projects, serving as the primary point of contact for development and innovation.
• Oversee and mentor development and research teams, driving high-impact projects from concept to deployment.

Strategic Direction

• Bring the voice, needs, and challenges of R&D into leadership forums, influencing company-wide strategic planning.
• Own and continuously refine the R&D development strategy, including architecture and technology stack decisions.

AI Innovation

• Foster a culture of AI innovation throughout the organization, championing the adoption of emerging technologies and methodologies.
• Drive the delivery of AI-based solutions that address real-world problems and deliver measurable value to clients.

Technical Ownership & Execution

• Serve as the ultimate technical owner for your teams’ products, conducting code reviews and upholding high coding standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new features and maintain high system reliability.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Partner with product, sales, and support functions to ensure R&D initiatives align with customer needs and business objectives.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including partners, vendors, and clients.

Operational Excellence

• Implement best practices for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), microservices, databases, and message queue technologies.
• Oversee resource allocation, budgeting, and timelines for the R&D department, ensuring efficient use of resources and on-time deliveries.

Key Qualifications

• Leadership Experience: 10+ years leading cutting-edge technology teams, with proven success in delivering complex projects.
• AI Expertise: Deep hands-on experience with AI, having deployed working AI-based solutions in real-world scenarios.
• Startup Mindset: Significant experience in entrepreneurial environments, comfortable with rapid iteration and pivoting as needed.
• Cloud Platforms: Proven track record using major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and familiarity with distributed computing.
• Architecture & Systems: Skilled in microservices-based architectures, databases, and message queue technologies.
• DevOps & CI/CD: Experience implementing robust continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
• Educational Background: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Technical Vision: Adept at balancing long-term technical strategy with short-term deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
