Biomedical Data Science Researcher – Weizmann Institute of Science
The Wolfe Center at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel, is seeking a computational researcher to develop ML/AI tools and investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration.
This highly collaborative role involves working with diverse techniques, including deep learning for computer vision, statistical genetics, causal inference, and multi-omics studies.
As a researcher in this position, you will initiate, lead, design, and implement AI/ML-driven biomedical studies in collaboration with domain experts (biologists and clinicians). Our research integrates multidisciplinary biology, data science methods, real-world human clinical data, and molecular experiments.
Our goal is to leverage AI/ML to develop powerful biomedical predictive models and translate our discoveries into potential therapies for neurodegenerative disease.
Requirements:
- MSc/PhD in Machine Learning, (bio)statistics, Computer Science, OR equivalent work experience delivering state-of-the-art AI/ML solutions.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML
- Fluency in Python (a must).
- Experience developing in a Linux environment
- Enthusiasm to work in an academic environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- ML for healthcare, disease biology, or medicine background
Scientific publications in AI/ML (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, Aers), computational biology, or bioinformatics venues.
- Experience working with high-throughput biomedical data (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, electronic health records, clinical images).
