Head of Ai

About the Role:

We are seeking a Head of AI to lead the development and implementation of our AI-driven insurance solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping our AI strategy, building and managing a high-performing AI team, and driving innovation in risk assessment, underwriting, and policy optimization. You will work closely with product, engineering, and business teams to ensure AI models deliver real value to our partners and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Define and execute the AI strategy to optimize insurance processes, including underwriting, pricing, and claims assessment.

Lead the development and deployment of AI/ML models that enhance risk evaluation and automate decision-making.

Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate AI solutions into the company’s platform.

Ensure AI models are explainable, ethical, and compliant with industry regulations.

Identify and implement emerging AI technologies to maintain a competitive edge.

Work with business stakeholders to translate complex AI capabilities into practical solutions for insurance brokers and partners.

Requirements:

8+ years of experience in AI/ML/DS, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Strong expertise in deep learning, NLP, computer vision, or predictive modeling.

Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.).

Proven track record of deploying AI models in production, preferably in fintech, insurtech, or a regulated industry.

Ability to drive AI strategy while remaining hands-on in technical aspects.

Experience working with large-scale datasets and cloud-based ML solutions (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to translate AI concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Bonus Points:

Experience in the insurance industry, particularly in underwriting or risk modeling.

Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
