Manager, Content Services - Technical Writing (EMEA)

The Customer Content Services (CCS) team is looking for a Global Manager to lead a CCS product team In this role, you will lead multiple technical writing managers (TWM) and their writing teams, content strategists (CS), and documentation program managers (DPM). To scale effectively with a rapidly growing team of writers, you’ll coordinate cross product efforts with other documentation leaders. As a Global Manager, you will lead special change programs, establish virtual team relationships, and ensure the outcome of the writing team effort is consistent with the business strategy. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

What you will do

• Coordinate accurate data gathering and reporting metrics for the technology and product area for you are responsible; regularly review content consumption data to inform prioritization and planning
• Develop and review common and consistent metrics that reflect the operational health of the teams and make improvements
• Make recommendations for load balancing resources and hiring needs, based on input from your direct reports and business knowledge; work with the broader team for input while maintaining visibility across silos to enable most efficient staffing and results
• Communicate CCS wide objectives and key results (OKR) details and guide actions, ensuring alignment with department goals; prepare for OKR review meetings by gathering data and completing the slide content
• Ensure teams understand the business strategy, are invested in departmental goals, and how their products, solutions, and department goals align to the company strategy
• Identify team members and organize or sponsor virtual teams that cross the organizational teams, e.g., all platform writers working on networking topics form a virtual team to align common and different content and strategize output
• Guide teams through change management efforts, e.g., progressing toward a new documentation experience
• Understand tools and processes for the teams they support and their challenges, and celebrate their successes
• Onboard new associates and mentor existing technical writing managers, documentation program managers, and content strategists
• Develop and plan reward and retention packages for associates
• Coordinate and manage travel planning against budget
  
  

What you will bring

• 5+ years of experience with documentation processes and leading or working with documentation teams consisting of multiple types of roles or tasks
• 2+ years people management and leadership experience
• Domain knowledge for area being considered
• Knowledge on autonomous vehicles and related fields is a plus
