Plastics Engineer

Company Description

We are an innovative startup developing groundbreaking plastic components for the beauty-tech industry. We are currently in the prototyping phase and looking for an experienced expert in plastics engineering to help us finalize the prototype and move to industrial production. We're looking for someone who focuses on creating exact, very small, and thin plastic parts that require deep mechanical understanding and advanced manufacturing solutions.

This is a freelance role for a Plastics Engineer with expertise in designing and developing small plastic components. We are currently on our path to creating the prototype. We are looking for a plastic engineer to lead our industrial designer in completing the prototype and moving to industrial production, including material selection, manufacturing techniques, and mechanical solutions. This role requires someone with a strong background in precision plastics engineering, micro-scale manufacturing, and mechanical assembly methods.

• Design and develop high-precision microplastic components
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing techniques (injection molding, extrusion, 3D printing, micro-manufacturing)
• Oversee the prototyping phase, including testing and refining designs.
• Develop mechanical solutions for secure, functional, and durable assembly of small plastic parts.
• Work closely with our industrial designers and manufacturers to optimize scalability and cost efficiency.
• Support the transition from prototype to full-scale industrial production.

• Extensive experience in plastics engineering, especially in small-scale parts
• Proficiency in Injection Molding, Micro-Molding, Extrusion, and 3D Printing
• Strong mechanical problem-solving skills related to plastic component design
• Hands-on experience in prototyping and transitioning to mass production
• Knowledge of material properties and polymer behavior in small-scale applications
• Previous experience in medical devices, beauty-tech, or other precision plastic products is a plus
• Freelancers – remote work possible with occasional on-site meetings (Tel Aviv District, Israel)
