About the Role:

We’re after a sharp, motivated Data Engineer to join our data team. If you’re into solid tech, clever solutions, and actually getting things done, this just might interest you.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering—because we take data infrastructure rather seriously.
• Proper software engineering skills (preferably in Python), with a systematic understanding of OOP. Must write clean, reusable, efficient, and scalable code, while applying design patterns and adhering to SOLID principles for maintainability and performance. No funny pun to add here.
• Proven hands-on experience with pub-sub architectures, microservice architectures, event-driven data processing, and distributed computing.
• Cloud experience with any major provider - AWS, GCP or Azure. Former is a big advantage.
• Strong grasp of ML operations. Experience with SageMaker is an advantage.
• Fluent in CI/CD. Must understand testing, deployment automation, and version control, with experience in Serverless Framework, Bitbucket Pipelines, or similar tools (no, copying files over SSH doesn’t count).
• Fundamental understanding of essentials like sharding and partitioning, streaming and batch processing, graph and DAG, lake and warehouse, what map/reducer is or why vectorized operations are nice. Bonus points if you don’t just nod along when someone mentions query execution plans.

Soft skills:

• You can self-define as team player or IC or adaptable or self-aware problem solver – whatever works. What we actually value is curiosity, active listening, critical thinking, courage, the skill to argue your point (without starting a war) and the ability to learn.
• You should be biased for action and able to communicate coherently during most hours.
