Your Role And Responsibilities

The IBM Language and Conversation research team is looking for an enthusiastic AI researcher who majored in Deep Learning NLP to help us craft the future of IBM Foundation Models and products , and push the boundaries on the state-of-the-art in language understanding, LLMs Reasoning, and Models Safety.Working as part of our team means you can bring your ideas to life through the full cycle of defining the research challenge, working with real data, performing the research, and innovating to solve and implement it. You will publish your research in top conferences, deliver it, and watch it come to life in the field.

Job responsibilities

Conduct research in the area of LLMs, advance the state of the art, and publish in top AI conferences

Employ prompt engineering, model selection, hyperparameter configuration, model fine-tuning, data retrieval, and code to enable your research.

Efficiently implement algorithms, define data sets and benchmarks and run experiments on real data

Develop algorithms as software components and support their integration into IBM products, environments, APIs, data pipelines and web services.

Take part in code reviews and ensure adherence to good engineering practices.

Constantly review relevant literature to identify emerging methods or technologies and current best practices

Follow the market, products and understand customer needs, to find innovative solutions to real customer problems.

Work alongside a talented team of researchers and engineers, communicate your ideas clearly and discuss scope and tradeoffs.

Position location relevant for both Haifa and Tel Aviv.

Preferred Education

Master's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• PhD or MSc student in computer science or related fields
• Excellent academic record in the fields of Natural Language Processing and GenAI
• Deep understanding of LLMs, as well as extensive experience in diverse prompting methods, improving instructions and avoiding hallucinations.
• Familiarity with Reasoning in the LLM domain (CoT, ReAct, ReWOO), and with LLM tooling like LangChain
• Proven hands on experience in writing code in Python and Java
• Innovative thinking, creativity, and self-learning
  
  

• Proven engineering and coding experience
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
