Research and Development Team Manager

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to lead a full-stack development team working with Python, React, multiple DBs and hosted on the AWS cloud. This role requires both strong leadership and hands-on development skills. You will manage a distributed team based in Israel and Bulgaria, drive technical excellence, and ensure high-quality delivery in a fast-moving startup environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of full-stack developers (Israel & Bulgaria).
• Take hands-on ownership of complex technical challenges and software architecture.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain applications using Python (backend) and React (frontend).
• Oversee and implement AWS cloud solutions, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
• Apply DevOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure as code.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver high-impact features.
• Foster a high-performance engineering culture, emphasizing quality, speed, and collaboration.

Manage code reviews, technical roadmaps, and sprint planning in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Team Leader in a tech company, preferably in a startup.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python (FastAPI) and React.
• Solid understanding of AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
• Knowledge of DevOps tools and methodologies (Docker, Terraform, CI/CD, VPCs).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities, with experience managing remote teams.
• Experience working in a startup environment and comfortable with rapid iteration and change.

Bonus Points

• Experience with microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity-related applications.
• Implementing ML modules and integrating external AI services
