Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated and hands-on high-power engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate is an electrical engineer with a strong background in the design of high power electromagnetic coils, considering their magnetic fields and forces and mutual induction. This role is an integral part of the engineering team to develop and optimize the EM propulsion system for our groundbreaking mass accelerator.

Key Responsibilities:

• High-Power EM Systems:
• Design and implement high-power electromagnetic, inductive propulsion systems.
• Analyze and optimize through modelling, simulations, and lab tests.
• Testing and Commissioning:
• Lead the EM and high-power elements in the lab design, building, and integration efforts.
• Work closely with other members of the R&D team from all disciplines to integrate the high-power and EM system with the other systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during testing and operation.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Create detailed documentation, including modelling and test results.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  
  

• At least a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience in design of high-power electrical circuits and / or EM systems.
• Strong understanding of coil design, EM induction and EM fields.
• Proven experience in hands-on work (build, integrate, test) in the relevant fields.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Highly motivated team player with the ability to work independently in a high paced R&D environment.
• Fluent in English - reading and writing.
• Comfortable working in industrial or laboratory environments.
  
  

• Extensive experience with fast paced prototyping and high power laboratory equipment.
• Experience with simulation software and analytical tools for electromagnetic analysis.
• Experience with induction motors, coil / rail gun accelerators, and magnetic levitation.
• Experience with pulsed power systems and high frequency switching techniques.
• Experience with circuit and PCB design and manufacturing.
• Experience with MATLAB / Simulink and / or Python.
