Head of Commercial Credit

Objective:

The Head of Commercial Credit is responsible for managing a complex and specialized commercial credit portfolio, primarily secured by collateral and guarantees. This includes overseeing the credit framework for business clients in various real estate sectors and additional industries in accordance with company policies.

Job Description:

Managing a Commercial Credit Portfolio:

• Oversee the credit process for commercial clients, including managing and monitoring existing credit portfolios, underwriting, and conducting ongoing reviews to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in and manage various credit committees.
• Lead and develop commercial real estate financing processes.
• Assess credit risk for loan applications using financial models and tools, ensuring alignment with predefined targets and deadlines.

Client Management:

• Conduct meetings with prospective and existing clients, negotiate terms, and finalize agreements.
• Tailor financial solutions for commercial clients.
• Manage client relationships to retain and expand usage of financial products, increasing the company’s credit portfolio.

Team & Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

• Manage and lead a team of employees.
• Develop the commercial credit division, identifying market trends and emerging needs and adapting them to company products.
• Work with various stakeholders such as risk management, finance department, credit control, and client relationship managers.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, or Finance – mandatory.
• Knowledge, experience, and familiarity with credit in real estate sectors – mandatory.
• At least 3 years of managerial experience in the financial sector – mandatory.
• Experience in managing managers – a significant advantage.
• Proven experience of at least 5 years in managing a commercial credit portfolio for mid-sized companies (annual revenue of $25M-$100M) and large enterprises ($100M+), with in-depth understanding of diverse financial products.
• Strong financial analysis skills, including reading and interpreting financial statements.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with a variety of clients.
• Experience working in a dynamic environment and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Familiarity with credit regulations and compliance requirements.
