Project Background

The project, "Technical Support and Analysis of Climate Change Vulnerability and Resilience Among Women in the Western Region (CLIMWOM)", aims to address the challenges faced by women in Herat, Farah, Ghor, and Badghis resulting from climate change. Through a comprehensive assessment, the project seeks to identify the specific impacts and vulnerabilities experienced by women in the region.

The findings will inform the design and implementation of targeted interventions that empower women and enable their active participation in climate change adaptation efforts. Key focus areas include agriculture, water scarcity, health risks, economic aspects, and natural resource management, with an emphasis on engaging women in decision-making forums.

Empowering women to actively engage in climate change adaptation will not only enhance their well-being and livelihoods but also foster sustainable development and resilience in the Western Region. This project is implemented by REHA and supported by UN Women.

Job Description

REHA seeks an Experienced Surveyor to support the CLIMWOM project by conducting surveys and assessments to understand the vulnerabilities faced by women in the target regions. The Surveyor will be responsible for gathering key data related to climate change impacts and vulnerabilities, particularly in the areas of agriculture, water resources, health, and livelihoods.

Key Responsibilities

The Surveyor will be responsible for conducting surveys and assessments to gather data on the vulnerabilities and resilience of women in the target regions. Specific duties include:

• Conduct field surveys in near-district areas of provincial capitals (Herat, Farah, Ghor, and Badghis) to collect data on climate change impacts and vulnerabilities faced by women.
• Use structured questionnaires and tools provided by the project to ensure accurate and consistent data collection.
• Gather qualitative and quantitative data on key focus areas, including agriculture, water resources, health, livelihoods, and natural resource management.
• Identify specific challenges and opportunities for women in adapting to climate change.
• Engage with local communities, particularly women, to understand their experiences, perspectives, and needs related to climate change.
• Ensure a gender-sensitive approach to data collection and community interactions.
• Submit timely and accurate reports to the filed officer.
• Support field officer in conducting FGDs with women.
• Work closely with the project team, local authorities, and community leaders to ensure smooth implementation of survey activities.
• Provide feedback and insights to inform the design of targeted interventions.
• Adhere to ethical guidelines for data collection, ensuring confidentiality and respect for participants.
  
  

Job Requirements

• At least High School Diploma.
• Good report/minutes writing skills.
• Experience with community mobilization or assessment.
• Ability to travel to districts and villages.
• Knowledge of Dari, and Pashto Languages.
• Skill of using technology during the survey
