Principal Full-Stack Engineer - Ask-y.ai

Ask-y.ai is developing an AI data-analytics platform with an advanced web application. We're seeking our first Principal Full-Stack Engineer to join our early-stage startup.

As a hands-on technical leader reporting to the Head of Technology, you'll build our platform from the ground up while guiding the engineering team through an evolving environment. This role requires someone who can write production code, make quick architectural decisions, and adapt to changing priorities.

• Write and ship production code across the full stack
• Build and scale our platform using React, TypeScript, Python, and Node.js/C#
• Design pragmatic solutions that balance speed with maintainability
• Lead and mentor developers while maintaining a high coding output
• Architect and deploy highly scalable APIs, microservices, and cloud systems
• Work closely with Product, Design, and AI/ML teams in a fluid environment
• Implement cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure) and CI/CD pipelines
• Make architectural decisions that support rapid changes in direction
• Conduct code reviews and lead technical discussions to ensure code quality

• 6+ years of hands-on full-stack development with:
• Frontend: React, TypeScript, Next.js
• Backend: Node.js/C#, Python
• APIs: REST, GraphQL, microservices
• Cloud & DevOps: AWS/GCP/Azure, CI/CD
• Databases: SQL and NoSQL
• Deep understanding of building scalable, high-performance systems
• Track record of delivering high-impact, user-facing products
• Experience writing production code in early-stage startups
• Strong ability to translate user needs into well-scoped technical solutions
• Track record of leading engineers while actively coding
• Ability to thrive in uncertainty and adapt to pivots
• Strong remote collaboration and English communication skills
• Startup experience or proven adaptability to fast-paced environments
