Engineer for Teaching and Research Laboratories

Job Description:

• Responsibility for operating a laboratory specializing in water, sludge, and soil analysis, including maintaining analytical equipment.
• Conducting analyses such as chemical, molecular, and microbiological tests on water, wastewater, and soil samples.
• Providing analytical laboratory services to researchers and research students in the department.
• Monitoring and controlling the inventory of laboratory materials and consumables, assisting in equipment procurement, and liaising with suppliers.
• Laboratory equipment maintenance: arranging and inspecting instruments before and after experiments, performing routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Assisting and guiding students and research teams in field and laboratory experiments.
• Assisting in planning, executing, developing, and updating experiments and teaching methods, as well as establishing and operating experimental systems. Processing, analyzing, and interpreting data and results.
• Ensuring safety regulations in teaching and research laboratories in accordance with legal requirements.
• Providing support and backup to department staff.
• Reporting to the Director of the Water Institute.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences or Engineering; a Master's degree in Hydrology, Soil and Water Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, or Biotechnology is preferred.
• At least three years of relevant experience.
• Experience working in an analytical laboratory.
• Preferred: experience in conducting analytical tests for water and wastewater.
• Preferred: experience in instruction/training.

• Full-time temporary position until August 31, 2025.
• Location: Sde Boker Campus.

תיאור תפקיד:

א. אחריות להפעלת מעבדה באנליזות מים, בוצות וקרקעות ואחזקת הציוד האנליטי במעבדה.

ב. ביצוע אנליזות כגון: כימיות, מולקולאריות ומיקרוביולוגיות של מים, שפכים ודוגמאות קרקע.

ג. מתן שירות מעבדתי אנליטי לחוקרים ולתלמידי מחקר במחלקה.

ד. ביצוע מעקב ובקרה על מלאי חומרים וציוד מתכלה במעבדה: סיוע ברכישת ציוד, קשר עם ספקים וכו'.

ה. תחזוקת ציוד מעבדה: סידור ובדיקת מכשירים לפני ואחרי ביצוע ניסויים, ביצוע תחזוקה שוטפת של מכשור המעבדה.

ו. מתן סיוע והדרכה לסטודנטים וצוותי מחקר בניסיונות שדה ומעבדה.

ז. סיוע בתכנון, ביצוע, פיתוח וחידוש ניסויים ושיטות לימוד, הקמה והפעלה של מערכות ניסיוניות. הפקה, ניתוח ועיבוד נתונים ותוצאות.

ח. אחריות על סדרי הבטיחות במעבדות ההוראה והמחקר בהתאם להוראות החוק.

ט. מתן סיוע וגיבוי לבעלי התפקיד במחלקה.

כפיפות: מנהל מכון המים.

דרישות התפקיד:

א. תואר אקדמי ראשון במדעי הטבע או הנדסה, רצוי- תואר שני בהידרולוגיה או קרקע ומים או כימיה או ביולוגיה או מיקרוביולוגיה או הנדסה כימית או ביוטכנולוגיה.

ב. ניסיון של 3 שנים בתחומים רלוונטיים.

ג. ניסיון עבודה במעבדה אנליטית.

ד. רצוי-ניסיון בביצוע בדיקות אנליטיות של מים ושפכים.

ה. רצוי- ניסיון בהדרכה.

היקף: 100% מילוי מקום עד ה-31.08.2025
