Senior Data Scientist

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Senior Data Scientist to join our R&D team. You will play a critical role in shaping our data science strategy by spearheading the development of advanced machine learning models and optimizing AI-driven solutions for the life insurance industry.

What you'll do:

• Lead and oversee the complete development lifecycle of AI/ML models, spanning research, experimentation, production deployment, and monitoring
• Tackle intricate modeling problems encompassing churn prediction, forecasting, segmentation, classification, and regression
• Devise and execute data science best practices to augment the efficiency, scalability, and precision of models.
• Maintain close collaboration with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to harmonize AI-driven insights with business goals
• Utilize advanced analytics, causal inference, experimentation, and predictive modeling to generate value for insurers.
• Relay pivotal discoveries and research to executives, clients, and internal teams, rendering complex insights accessible and actionable.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior data scientists, nurturing a culture of innovation and excellence.

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of practical experience in Machine Learning and Data Science, showcasing a successful history of deploying models to production.
• BSc/MSc/PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related discipline.
• Profound expertise in Python, SQL, and experience working with cloud-based ML pipelines.
• Solid background in time series forecasting, clustering, classification, and predictive modeling.
• Experience managing large-scale datasets, coupled with a deep understanding of data pipelines, feature engineering, and model optimization.
• Strong analytical mindset combined with business acumen – ability to translate data into actionable insights for real-world impact.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of initiatives, and spearhead strategic data science projects from conception to execution.
• Excellent communication skills – ability to articulate findings to executives, clients, and technical teams in a clear and compelling manner.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience in Insurance, Fintech, or Risk Modeling.
• Familiarity with deep learning, reinforcement learning, or generative AI.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for machine learning deployment.
