Director of Technology

As Director of Technology, you will spearhead early-stage technology development for Sapios, building and scaling our human-machine interface. You're a champion in real-time data processing and AI and you're driven to build a system that helps protect and empower our soldiers. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be a technical leader in an early-stage startup, working closely with the CEO to bring the product to launch
• Lead design, development, and deployment of the Sapios platform from ground zero, including wearable system architecture and data/AI frameworks
• Ensure the platform meets stringent security and data privacy standards for defense applications
• Lead field testing with soldiers and iterate on feedback to improve product features

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or related field
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software-hardware engineering
• Proven experience leading engineering projects, ideally in defense, AI, or IoT/wearables
• Proficient in Python and TensorFlow (or PyTorch) with edge deployment

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Expertise in computer vision on edge devices and real-time data processing
• Strong background in secure system architecture and compliance with government/defense standards
• Proficient in cloud computing architectures e.g. AWS
• Familiarity with hardware integration and/or development
• Previous work developing technology for the MoD/DoD
• Proven reliability and ability to handle confidential information
• Ability to thrive in the chaos of an early-stage startup
