Afghanistan Social and Legal Organization (ASLO) is registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan. The organization was informally established in 2012 and officially registered with the Ministry of Economy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in 2013. ASLO was awarded registration number 2852 by the NGOs Department of the Ministry of Economy, Kabul, Afghanistan.
Job Description
Scope of work:
The bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, including recording daily transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, and reconciling bank statements. They ensure all financial data is accurately entered into QuickBooks, generating reports and summaries as needed. The role involves categorizing expenses, tracking payments, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The bookkeeper also assists in the preparation of financial statements and supports audits. Additionally, they ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and receipts in QuickBooks for efficient financial management.
Main Responsibilities
- Transaction Recording: Accurately record all financial transactions in QuickBooks, including income, expenses, and adjustments.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payment to vendors and receipt of funds.
- Expense Tracking: Track project expenses and ensure they are recorded accurately in accordance with the budget.
- Payroll Processing: Assist in processing payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payment to staff.
- Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries to ensure proper accounting of financial activities.
- Financial Reports: Generate periodic financial reports from QuickBooks for internal management and donor review.
- Document Management: Maintain organized records of invoices, receipts, and financial documentation for easy access and audit purposes.
- Support Audits: Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested financial records and documentation.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure financial transactions comply with NGO policies and relevant accounting standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- A minimum of 4–5 years of work experience in local and international NGO.
- Experience in QuickBooks is must.
