Mechanical Engineer

Shamir Optical, a global leader in the ophthalmic industry, is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer.

Responsibilities:

• Take the mechanical engineer role for developing multi-disciplinary systems consisting of mechanics, electronics, optics and software.

• Plan and drive research lab hands on activities – such as prototyping, platforms bring ups, performance testing, etc. 

• Generate end to end system analysis and research results reports.

• Support production lines of products designed by HQ engineering.

Requirements

• B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering.

• At least 7 years of relevant experience. Must include mechanical design like sheet metal, machining and injection molding. Drive systems and industrial control (advantage).

• Hand-on prototyping capabilities like mechanical assembling, wiring and soldering.

• Experience with lab equipment and measurements of physical systems.

• High level of problem-solving skills and debugging of high complexity systems.

• Fluent English, and excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

• This is a full-time position, working from Kibbutz Shamir.
