Quantum SW R&D intern for Qiskit- Summer internship 2025- Research Lab

Your Role And Responsibilities

We are looking for an MSc or PhD student to join the quantum computing group at the IBM Research - Haifa. The focus of the role is on the Qiskit SDK package, specifically in the area of quantum circuit compilation and optimization with the intention of developing and improving methods for quantum circuit synthesis. As part of the role you will be working in an agile and collaborative environment together with other members of the broader IBM Quantum team.

This position is located in Haifa, Tel-Aviv or Remote.

Our summer internship program offers you an opportunity to join our research team for a 3 months internship (working 5 days a week) in either Haifa or Tel Aviv sites (according to each internship). During the internship, you will be working with our talented researchers on top projects, helping create the next generation of AI, security, quantum, cloud and much more.

Preferred Education

Master's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• Enrolled to an MSc or PhD program in CS, Physics, EE, Math or a closely related field
• Experienced in writing high quality object oriented code in Python
• Basic familiarity with quantum computing environments like Qiskit
  
  

• Strong background in quantum information
• Knowledge in quantum circuit compilation, optimization or synthesis is a big advantage
• Experience with Rust
• Proficiency with Github
