Position Overview: The Deputy General Counsel will play a critical role in our legal department, providing strategic legal advice and support to the company. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in corporate law, regulatory compliance, and international business operations, particularly within the agriculture and crop protection industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the General Counsel in
- Legal Strategy and Leadership:
- Developing and implementing the company’s legal strategy.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the legal team, ensuring alignment with the company’s business objectives.
- Prepare to transition into the General Counsel role by the end of 2025.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in the jurisdictions where the company operates.
- Monitor changes in legislation and advise the company on potential impacts and necessary actions.
- M&A, Corporate Structuring
- Advise on mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic transactions
- Contract Management:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including supply agreements, distribution agreements, and licensing agreements.
- Ensure that all contracts comply with legal requirements and company policies.
- Litigation and Dispute Resolution:
- Manage and oversee litigation and dispute resolution matters, working with external counsel as necessary.
- Develop strategies to minimize legal risks and resolve disputes efficiently.
- Intellectual Property:
- Work with the Head of IP to protect and manage the company’s intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets.
- In collaboration with the Head of IP, advise on intellectual property strategy and enforcement.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and assess legal risks associated with the company’s operations and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on legal and compliance matters.
Ethical Compliance:
- develop, implement, and oversee the company's ethical compliance programs and policies

- ensure the company adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
- conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential compliance risks and implement corrective actions.
- provide training and education to employees on ethical standards and compliance requirements.
- investigate and resolve any ethical or compliance issues that arise within the organization.
Data Privacy Oversight
- Together with the Data Privacy Officer,
- develop, implement, and maintain data privacy policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Monitor and assess the impact of new and evolving data privacy laws and regulations on the organization.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on data privacy matters, including data protection impact assessments and data breach response.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance with data privacy requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for data privacy inquiries and investigations from regulatory authorities.
Legal Operations Management:
- Lead the
- Identification and implementation standardized processes for legal work to improve efficiency and consistency across the legal department.
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and management of legal technology solutions, including AI tools and contract lifecycle management systems.
- Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of legal operations initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal operations align with overall business objectives.
- Provide training and support to legal team members on new processes and technologies.
Qualifications:
- LLB or equivalent law degree from a recognized institution.
- Admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction; admission in Israel is preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of legal experience, with significant experience in corporate law, regulatory compliance, and international business operations in a global distribution company
- Experience in leading a global team
- Experience in the industrial company is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead a multi national legal team and work collaboratively with other departments.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support the company’s global operations.
