We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Silicon Photonics Engineer to join our Photonic Integrated Circuits team. In this role you will be responsible for conducting integrated photonics design and process development, with a particular focus on developing devices for quantum computing applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in all aspects of silicon photonics devices.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop silicon photonic devices from concept to completion. This includes simulation, testing, and analysis.
• Lead research projects to improve device performance beyond industry state of the art.
• Engage in strategic relationships with fabrication partners to optimize production processes.
• Transform research concepts into manufacturable products.
• Deal with all related PIC design considerations, including optical characteristics, active phase control (thermal and electro-optical), optical coupling and more.

Qualifications:

• MSc or PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Expert knowledge of integrated photonics and semiconductor fabrication.
• Deep understanding of photonic components: waveguides, modulators, switches, beamsplitters, resonators, and MZIs.
• Strong proficiency in measurement techniques and data analysis.
• Good familiarity with full product development cycles from initial research through volume production.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with hands-on silicon photonics fabrication and analysis in clean room environment.
• 3+ years of silicon photonics research.
• Strong problem-solving skills and scientific curiosity.
• Experience working with semiconductor and photonics foundries.
