Analytical Chemist (Metabolomics Facility)

A new multi-omics center is currently being established at the Technion, in collaboration with the University of Haifa and Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. The Perlmutter Metabolomics Unit is seeking an analytical chemist.

Responsibilities

Operation and maintenance of advanced analytical instruments: LC-MS, GC-MS

Sample preparation and execution of quantitative and qualitative analyses of metabolites in biological samples

Development of analytical methods

Collaboration with researchers and students on diverse metabolomics projects in science and medicine

Data analysis and report writing

Working as part of the multi-omics center team

Qualifications

Master’s degree in a relevant field: Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline (PhD is an advantage)

At least two years of laboratory experience

At least two years of experience operating analytical instruments (LC-MS, GC-MS)

Fluent in Hebrew and English

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Initiative, diligence, and scientific curiosity

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Basic knowledge of bioinformatics – advantage

Basic programming skills – advantage
