Environmental Manager

What Will You Be Doing:

The Environmental Manager will have full responsibility to assure and monitor the compliance of products to environmental regulations such as RoHS, REACh and Conflict Minerals, and any other local regulation and customer environmental requirement

• Be responsible to control and enforce the requirements of all permits, legislative requirements and procedural requirements related to the environmental aspects of SolarEdge supply chain and facilities
• Support the sustainability plan and goals in the areas related to environmental performance, by measuring the operations’ and products’ carbon footprint, resources consumption etc., and lead initiatives to the reduction of the significant environmental impacts
• Support the company’s R&D functions in inquiries related to the selection of materials to be used in SolarEdge’s products on the aspects of their environmental compliance, impact and safety
• The Environmental Manager will report directly to the Director of EHS in SolarEdge Headquarters in ISRAEL.

Job requirements:

BSc or MSc/MA in Environmental Studies or Environmental Engineering

Certified hazardous materials trustee and radiation trustee - advantage.

Experience, Skills and Others:

• At least 3 years' experience in environmental management. Experience in the electronics industry - Advantage
• Knowledge in handling product environmental compliance requirement (REACh, RoHS) - must
• Ability to handle multiple point of contacts within the organization’s different sites and divisions
• Knowledge in working with PDM systems and integrating compliance data to the product’s bill of materials
• Knowledge in the language of sustainability and GRI reporting
• Experience in conducting LCAs or Carbon footprint analysis and submitting them to certification – Significant advantage
• Proven experience in monitoring environmental KPIs, and creating new measurable in according to an ongoing environmental aspects assessment
• Knowledge in the structure of MSDS and supporting R&D teams by training and guiding them on the materials handling
• Proven experience in handling local legislative requirements like Business and hazardous materials permit, packages law, EEE waste etc.
• Creative, motivated and out-of-box thinking, to lead a change in the day-to-day practices in the facilities to reduce waste, energy and resources consumption.
• Good Personal skills to achieve cooperation and trust from managers and employees from all departments that do not deal frequently with environmental manners
• Quick learner in an always changing industry and regulatory field
• Good computing skills, familiarity with Confluence, office applications and basic scripts and XMLs.
• Good verbal, reading and writing in English.
